Auto-play makes sure that any incoming Rifff is automatically selected as the active Rifff and starts playback. This keeps you in sync with the other jammers and in turn makes sure that they will hear your Rifffs as soon as you create them.

In some cases it's a good idea to turn it off. In a more laid-back jam, you might want to continue working off an older Rifff. Leaving auto-play on would throw you back to the latest Rifff whenever a new one comes in.

Another reason to turn it off would be to browse the history of a an ongoing jam. Maybe you are looking for something to export and need to dig deep into Rifffs from days or even weeks ago. Turn auto-play off to make sure you're not pulled back into the present if someone else suddenly starts jamming.

For the best experience, especially in public jams, we recommend to keep it on. Auto-play is therefore turned on by default.
